I admit I don't know much about Parkers but what is this?
"the hickory dowel patent" I see it in the photo but what the hell is it for?

Killed a dozen geese over the weekend with a Parker 10 gauge. I'd say they work just fine.

Tubes, That was so cruel! "mark twain" indeed!. I suppose a 32 inch 21 duck gun would do the job pretty well though.

Mike, I believe the stock was drilled,from the butt through the stock through the wrist.A hickory dowl was then glued into the channel.This was done to add strength to the wrist area.Especially on thin wristed guns.
