If you are interested I have a nice two barrel set for sale. See the "Guns for Sale" section. I think they are splendid guns. Even if a bit heavier than the Browning they are superly balanced.

that's a spurious argument. i no long have either book but my recollection is he had a chapter devoted to the 32 in "best shotguns ever made in America" and since the superposed wasn't made here it was by default not mentioned. in his book "best guns" i'm certain he discussed the superposed but whether he discussed the 32 or not i don't recall. it depends on exactly which "best" book you're talking about.

Interesting thread with a bunch of very interesting replies. I've never owned, or even shot, a 32. However, the Superposed has been the O/U each wannabe has been compared to, for about 80 years now. The 32s sold new, for about 1/2 of the Superposed prices, at the time. Now, they are possibly double the selling price but, I believe, simply because of their rarity (only about 6000 were made) As someone else said, Superposeds can be quite a bargain now, mainly because there are so many of them(JMO). Good thread!

As a young officer serving in what was then W. Germany, I did a good deal of skeet shooting on Sunday afternoons. The Army in those days had very active Rod and Gun clubs that were very reasonable in dues, ammo, etc. At that club in Heidelberg, a senior officer would regularly show up and shoot a beautiful model 32 Remington in the Skeet configuration. I coveted that beauty and vowed that someday I would own one. My dream became a reality long after retirement and after having my own business. Mine is in the field configuration with two sets of barrels. Admitedly not a dainty lady, she is very well balanced and a joy to shoot. The workmanship and the wood is superb on the gun and it functions flawlessly.

One of my 32s is a wonderful 30" gun engraved and gold inlaid by Arnold Griebel. Arnold's Model 32s were well publicized by John Amber in the sixties in the Gun Digest. When I tried to turn this gun into my favorite over under shooter, I found that it had feet of clay. It doubles often enough that I should have it looked at. It is on the back burner presently.

The 32s were certainly interesting guns, but they are rarely seen. The Superposeds seem to be as much in evidence today as they ever were, certainly in hunting venues. Between Art's and Midwest, Superposed repairs are still easy.

I liked the two samples of the double/single trigger Supers that I tried, but even more I like the FN Supers with the true trouble-free double triggers. I've got one of the 12 gauge FN Superlights, double trigger, swan neck stock, 27.5" (not the US spec 26.5")solid rib that is great fun on SoDak pheasant.

I have an original model 32 4 barrel skeet set serial 1232 if anyone is interested. It is the pointer grade which is one or two up from the plain Jane field gun.
