Has anyone used one or heard any reports of these "turkeys" (sorry about the pun)?
These are getting to be quite popular up here in Alberta, but I am not familiar with them.
Thanks in advance for your input.

I have a Bobwhite in 28 ga. and like it a lot. For the money they are hard to beat and come with a five year warranty. I also have a DeHaan equivalent of the Bobwhite called an SO in 16ga/28". At a bit over 7# it's a bit on the heavy side but the balance is so nice that I don't even notice it. Overall, the DeHaan offers a better wood (typically) and is a bit more refined, IMO. Good luck with your decision.

IMHO, I would save a bit more money and buy a used or new Spanish made side by side (Arrieta, AyA, Garbi to name a few) if you want a side lock, or an Italian box lock (Poli, Ferlib, Beretta).

I have shot a 28 ga. bobwhite and I loved it. I lot of gun for the money I think. Not a high end product, but a nice little gun that fit good and shot great. Decent fit and finish for a budget gun too. I Put 4 boxes of shells through it and not a hitch in the bunch. Liked it so much I looked into their rifles which get great revues. I bought a CZ 550 FS manicher style a few weeks ago and it's a tack driver after 100 rounds or so.

A buddy and I did a "review" of the Bobwhite models in 20 and 28 gauge. For what it is worth, it is available here (dial - up users beware - 5 MB PDF file): http://www.members.shaw.ca/sharptail/CZReview.pdfAnton

I bought 2 CZ Bobwhites about 3 years ago, one in 20 ga. and the other in 28. Both have have well over a 1000 rds. thru them. Bought them for hard use shotguns for grouse and woodcock and pasture clays. The 20 gets a lot of use on ducks with bismuth and Kent Matrix ( thankfully I stocked up years ago), over decoys it has been great. For the money to me they are a great buy. I have better SxSs but enjoy these and besides the 28 you can carry all day. Both work well on bunnies too. This is my personal experience with these 2 .

I realize that these are no where near a Purdey, H&H, Parker, Model 21, nor a LC Smith.
They seem to have adequate fit and finish, along with 'some' nice styling and handling.
Basically, the amount of 'fine' double guns up here in Alberta is minimal, although more are being spotted. The good or best ones are with those that.....well.....if I had their money, I'd burn mine.
Thanks to all who have answered my question and good hunting to you all.
Cheers!!

I have a ringneck 28ga. and love if for walking behind my pointer, did not do so well with it on dove, possibly due to the light weight, but really well on quail.

I have a 410 in the Bobwhite and a 28 in the Ringneck. Fit and finish is better than anything for the money. I use them as my personal hunting guns. (i like to shoot everything i have) and also as guest guns. I would love for CZ to come with me and shoot some birds, also work out a deal were folks could try them out. In my humble opinion they beat the New LC by Marlin hands down. The Stoggers and Remingtons don't even come close (sorry)
