damascus Sidelock Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 1,124 Likes: 195 Cheshire England	The holes are to take pegs of various materials depending what item is being engraved, this form of work holding is to enable irregular shaped items to be held firmly. Also a good quality engraving vice has a lot of mass helping the engraver the engraver to work without locking its rotational movement. The only lessons in my life I truly did learn from where the ones I paid for!

When you tighten the jaws the pins move against the object to hold it in place.
