I’m in love with an Arrieta 20GA shotgun that I’ve recently gone to look at a major dealer. I’d like your opinion on these. I have a very respected gunsmith where I live and they tell me eventually they all become a problem, from his experience. And he works for a lot of major gun companies doing their service work. I love these guns and have run into some money, bad news they’re a pair of 20ga.. they’ll sell me a single but I think its sacrilegious to split them up. Do they have a service department in the USA? Do they use a 3rd party ? if so who are they, they would recommend? I know the guns are slightly older and would not be under warranty. I just don’t want to buy a problem gun , especially at this cost. I’ve heard people say they’ve had great success and I’ve heard absolute HORROR stories. So please tell me your opinion.. Thanks!

Contact John Boyd on this site. He is/was an Arrieta dealer.

I had the 2nd from bottom grade and shot it extensively for 1 year. It's finish was excellent, wood to metal top shelf, great balance and feel. I currently have a pair of 20's that are top grade and they are excellent in all ways. I have shot them a fair amount but not over 6,000 rounds. So far I see not wear at all. Re the comment they have issues, my gunsmith, who I respect 100%, says all guns if shot enough break. I might add he sees the very top shelf stuff.

Have a 578 12 ga I ordered thru Jack Jansms back in 2001. Have both shot ot a lot for skeet and carried it a lot grouse and pheasant chasing. Shows signs of wear, as it should. Only mechanical probkem has been one broken hammer springs. As it came with an extra set of fitted springs, was a quick and inexpnsive repair.

I have a hunting buddy who has carried one for more than a decade, loves it. No issues.

I have a Uggie and Garbi now and have had Grullas. Never had an Arrieta but wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I found one that tripped my trigger.

Well just got back and put 100 through my Arrieta
Have put many of thousands of round through it. Never an issue.
I do maintain it which some folks on any gun do not.
Like any thing mechanical things can break. I have never that to do anything to it.
I would not hesitate buying one if it was maintained properly and not abused
