I NEED A MAIN SPRING FOLLOWER--THE LITTLE CUP THAT INTERFACES WITH THE MAIN SPRING AND THE HAMMER (12 GA). I HAVE ONE STUCK IN THE CYLINDER WITH THE OPENING TO THE REAR (DON'T ASK HOW IT GOT THERE) I MAY HAVE TO DRILL IT OUT; GOING TO TRY DRILL AND TAP, THREAD SMALL BOLT OR ALL-THREAD; THEN PULL IT OUT.
ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED! THANK YOU. GIL

Gil. Have you tried putting the receiver in the freezer to see if it will break free? Ive used that truck a couple times to get stuck things apart.

Thank you for the replies. There was nothing to grab onto so, What I ended up doing is cleaning everything out with acetone, then epoxying a piece of #6 all thread into the open part of the follower (it was in backwards). First try failed (I didn't get it clean enough and an epoxy goober (technical term) ended up on the inside of the cylinder. It worked on the second try. Gil

Gil This thread is confusing and close to a duh. The open [cupped] end of the main spring follower is supposed to be facing the rear. It wasnt in the hole backwards. That cup holds the stirrup thats attached to the hammer. Ya might want to study that arrangement before trying to re-assemble the parts.

Had a friend who was working on a trigger on a S&W. Decided to try it one more time, forgetting he had loaded it. Took out a cinder block in his basement wall. Wife thought he had shot himself. When she found out he was OK he was no longer OK. Made him do the dishes for a week complete with a apron. What I would have given to have seen him in an apron.
