He did have a penchant for white line spacers, it seemed every gun he owned was so equipped!
As for exagerations, I always got a kick out of how he went on about the LCs "superior engineering" in it's sidelocks, compared to, say, a Purdey seven pin intercepting sear lock. He constantly denied that a 'Smith was prone to cracking it's stock behind the lockplates, when we had photographic evidence of, well, lots of 'em that did just that.
The Lard patent trigger? Why, it was simply the finest mechanism ever offered up to humanity, plain and simple. Why couldn't you just see it?
But, Beaner was a good sport, and the board is poorer without him.
