Imagine breaking into someone's home and looking at the business end of that thing.

Reminds me either of a Springer or a H&H. But how does a posh DR/whatever get in an article on black guns & accessories? Or better phrased, what point was the author attempting to convey?
Cheers,

I can't make out the details of engraving to read a name on the gun. the picture is only a small thumbnail of a higher quality one not available there and is too fuzzy to enlarge. I may be mistaken but that looks to be one of the Fausti sisters holding one of their guns in the white. she is holding it extended towards the camera. it is actually fairly slim in profile (compare it to her fairly small hands). if it is a shotgun it looks as if it would be a small gauge/frame (perhaps 28g?) . Might be a rifle, but no sign of iron sights or scope mount visible. Probably easy to search the Fausti catalogs and P/R articles to find out. JMHO

Well it is not Barbara Fausti, nor any of her older sisters. None of them have that cleft in their chin.
But whoever she is, she has handled guns before.

Pauline Zacharie of France, with a gun she built at the St. James Armory according to a web search.

That is correct, France’s “only female gunsmith”. She has created a shotgun studded with precious stones. There are some neat youtubes of her working in her shop and deer hunting.
