I've gone back to the O/U. Italian no less. But I still prefer a double trigger. I know they are more reliable on a SxS, but are they more reliable on an O/U. One hardly sees a double trigger on an O/U. Thanks

It's not the barrel configuration, it's the design and maker that matters.
Most Italian single triggers are very, very reliable.

I prefer the double trigger. It's easier to change barrels while still concentrating on the target.

Shoot what you like. I am more consistant with my O/U, I just like the SXS guns better! I'll bet you find that most folks here have O/Us in addition to their SXS guns.
Best, Ted

Amen. I would say the single trigger on most better Italian guns is perfected. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, pooch. Hope you get to shoot it a lot. SRH

Many years ago, I had an irrational love affair with the sxs shotgun. It was a near sickness. When I started shooting registered competition Sporting Clays in the late 90's, I was going to prove that I could be just as good with a sxs as everyone else was with their o/u's. After a couple of years, I realized I was maybe giving up a few targets by staying with the sxs, and bought a dedicated clays o/u. I shot it better, and the rest is history.
You will enjoy the new toy. JR

I converted a Beretta 686 12 bore to double triggers about 15 years ago (Cole Gunsmithing). Cole even set the trigger pulls where I wanted them. Works for me. I also know at least three people who had so much trouble with their Parker Repro single triggers that they had them converted to DT.
The only DT O/U I have seen in a long time are the Marlin 90 series.
