Ben Loving has been asking $1550 for this one for quite a while -- http://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-fo...un_id=100675555The 20-gauge Bakers and Batavias began appearing in the catalogs pretty quickly after H & D Folsom Arms Co. acquired the gun part of the Baker Gun & Forging Co. business in 1919. The ones I've handled are fairly heavy and clunky as they are not built on a scaled down frame. With a serial number 32xxF I'd guess the early 1920s for vintage. H & D Folsom's records are long gone, so a guess is all you are going to get. I owned a pretty minty 12-gauge in the 189xxF range for quite a while, and my Galazan Chamber Gauge would go in to the 3-inch mark!?!

I think I got a good deal, Thanks for the info, earler date than I thought The main thing is as long as you are happy and feel you got a good deal cause no one else knows what you paid or what the condition is or if original so hard for anyone else to say.

Note that even if it is chambered for 3 inch shells the 20 ga "3 inch Magnum" as we know it today did not exist. 3" 20 gauge shells could be obtained on order but they were normally loaded no heavier than 1oz of shot. Also the fact that a 2 3/4" or 3" shell will go in does not mean it is chambered for them. The length of shotshells is determined by their "Fired" length. A loaded shell with fold crimp will enter a much shorter chamber than its designated length. You do not have the same situation with shotshells as for instance that a .357 Magnum pistol cartridge will not enter a proper .38 Special chamber etc.

I have a nice 20 ga. for sale in Guns for Sale below. It weighs 6# 5oz. The receiver of the 20 is scaled down in size across the bar and across the breech balls, compared to the 16 ga. and 12 ga.
