Int'l Clays I have used a great deal of for 20 ga. and it always performs great.

Check your pressures though.
I don't think it's an economical choice for 12 ga as I recall.

I use Clays for 12.

Out there doing it best I can.

Red Dot, Promo, E3, American Select, Green Dot, or 700X will all have loads below 7500psi. I've used all of them without cutting shells or adding filler wads. Maybe try a CB-4100 wad. It's good for 7/8 or 1oz loads where as the 1100 is good for 1 1/8 or 1oz loads. I believe the 4100 has a bit more cushion height. It will help take up some space. Good luck - Paul

Ok I've ordered CB4100-12B wads. I hope that's the right ones. I'll check our local powder supply house for Clays and primers. I did find some good loads for these components so I thank y'all for that. I need to keep below 8500 psi for my L. C. Smith and below 6500 for my St. Etienne and this combo will feed both.

I've shot about a bazillon 1oz Clay's reloads with a Win 209 primer, Gun Club hull, and Claybuster wad.

You'll like them. I always ran about 1180 fps and 7200 psi.
Works great year round. Very clean too.

It's always a good idea to work up low pressure reloads for vintage guns. But 6500 psi seems excessively low for a French double. Single St. Etienne proof is 14,200 psi. Just to compare, standard CIP proof (the old 850 bar) is 13,920 psi. Service pressure for those guns is 10,730 psi.
