DOG<>GOD=LOVE. The only other one in this place that shows us unconditional love. No wonder they are called mans best friend & dog. If only I could be so obedient, loyal & faithful. I give thanks for the example in how to love. O.M

Keith: this is my second try, and I'll give you the non-deep-thinkin'-Baptist version. Proof texting is approaching God's inerrant word, not to hear God speak, but to justify your presupposition; eisegesis rather than exegesis. It's using/distorting God's word for your own purpose. God had something to say about that in Jeremiah 23 and Isaiah 5:20-21. God expects us to study his word with holy reverence and humility, not to justify our own agenda https://sites.google.com/site/anotherday...ts-of-scriptureExamples: 1. Justifying slavery from Ephesians 6:5-8 and Philemon 2. Justifying forced conversion from Luke 14:23 3. Justifying domestic violence from 1 Corinthians 7 and Ephesians 5:22 (while ignoring 5:21, 25 & 33) And the all time favorite of the unregenerate worldling Matthew 7:1 "Do not judge..." ignoring that right after that in v. 6 Jesus mentions dogs and pigs and v. 15 false prophets. And He called sin, sin. The context is self-examination https://sites.google.com/site/anotherdaysjourneybackhome/examine-yourselfand evangelistic and biblical discernment, which we are commanded to exercise; anakrino “to investigate or examine in order to make a discernful decision”, NOT katakrino “to condemn” which is for God alone https://sites.google.com/site/anotherdaysjourneybackhome/spiritual-discernment/who-am-i-to-judgeBottom (Baptist) line - If you are going to presume to speak for God, you better be sure it's from His word, and that you've got it rightCarry on Keith. Your bitterness and venom hurt me not at all, are bringing reproach to the name of Jesus Christ, and are destroying your soul.

agreed, we should all be thankful for those we still have...and cherish the memory of those who are no longer with us...
and happy turkey to all!
keep it simple and keep it safe...

Stan, that’s an amazing story about the bulldog. Apparently it happens more often than we realize. A few years ago, there was the video of the Navy Seal’s dog which laid down by his master’s casket during his funeral service. In Japan, school children are taught the story of Hachiko, an Akita, that after his master’s death in the 1920s, went to the train station every day at the time his master would normally arrive from work. He did this for 9 years until his death. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachikō I found a collection of essays and sayings about losing dogs and grief and one of the most poignant was attributed to Napoleon:
“ ‘This soldier, I realized, must have had friends at home and in his regiment; yet he lay there deserted by all except his dog. I looked on, unmoved, at battles which decided the future of nations. Tearless, I had given orders which brought death to thousands. Yet here I was stirred, profoundly stirred, stirred to tears. And by what? By the grief of one dog .'
Napoleon Bonaparte, on finding a dog beside the body of his dead master, licking his face and howling, on a moonlit field after a battle. Napoleon was haunted by this scene until his own death.”

Gene Hill "Just A Dog"
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day. If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise." "Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. "Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day. I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man." So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog." just smile, because they "just don't understand."

keith -
you are a patent a$$hole. Why do you persist in soiling this forum?
and once again I have to wonder why the admin tolerates your petty excretions. You remind me of a bird dog that relishes rolling in cow chit...
