H47 Boxlock Joined: Apr 2015 Posts: 28 Maine	The product is a mixture of high quality boiled linseed and beeswax. In a conversation with them, they indicated that the beeswax does impart a degree of wateroroofing. BLO isn't an exterior finish either, but everybody uses that. Just saying.

OP GrouseGunner Sidelock Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 160 NE Ohio	I finally got a hold of the dealer where I bought the gun and they recommended this. Using Linspeed Oil which is a premix of linseed and turpentine, and then later coating it with a coat of renaissance wax for protection.

Doesn't take much at all and will dry hard overnight. Key is to apply far less than you think is needed. When an old man dies a library burns to the ground. (Old African proverb)
