I use ballistol to clean my wood and renaissance microcrystalline wax polish to spruce up. Occasionally I will add a light coat of linspeed.

I use boiled linseed oil I put it on all my AYAs I use a micro cloth to apply let it sit for 15 min or longer and wipe off with a micro cloth after I rubbed it in with my hand.
I have been doing this for over 30 years on my AYAs (53E, xxvBL, 2 #2s and a number 1) No issues seems to work for me..

Has anyone tried / developed an opinion about this?:

I've used it for rub- in and touch ups for a couple of years and results seem quite nice.

My understanding of the best way to maintain an oil finish is to mix boiled linseed oil and turpentine (say 80% BLO to 20% Turp.) and put a drop on the stock, rub in, leave for an hour and then buff the stock with a soft cloth. After a day or two, apply renaissance microcrystalline wax polish.
This method should do no harm and I use it on all my english guns with traditional oil finishes.

One their website they state for indoor use, so I would not use that on a gunstock.
