Well, as scrap iron here in England is down to 10 per metric tonne that would be 1p. per kilo so around 3p. Sorry to be so harsh but to restore the cost would outweigh whatever it could ever be worth. Lagopus.....

Actually the restoration would cost me almost nothing, I'm a hobbyist.....have another post on restoring an old Stevens hammer gun in the gunsmithing section, if you'd care to take a look. I've seen guns with 2x4 equivalent stocks for sale in the hundreds. I think I'd be fine, and I'll be getting checkering tools at the end of the month, another thing to practice.

Value here would be nil - not even worth the trouble to chuck in the bin.

with nice blue, some case colors and a pretty stock and in good working order, maybe $400.00 on the high end.
It wasn't a good gun when it was new and I like Belgian doubles

I'd really only hope to get my money back in a sale.

The gun would hold not much value even if it had its wood. Where I am, with its wood it would be roughly a $125.00, maybe $175.00 gun. Way it is it would be a give away paper weight.

I guess if you want a project, that would be one. Since there is a $50.00 offer that may be what it will cost. Worth is something else. If you want to hone your skills, so be it. I personally wouldn't buy it but then I have an old Ithaca DB that a former customer abandoned several years ago. Far better shape than that one. Didn't like the cost of 2 new firing pins and $20.00 to install them. Personally I thought that was reasonable but he didn't think the shotgun was worth it. The cost to me was 2 new firing pins.

See the difference?

Just because they say you are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you.
