Any group of members here that enjoy shooting their vintage SxS guns in north, north/west Illinois? Where do you guys go shooting? Any organized shoots for vintage guns?

A number of shooters at Downers Grove SC shoot doubles. Nothing is formalized, just a congenial group that like the guns. You will never know who will show up with what gun. We have a clays course, 5 stand and trap and skeet. Also, the kitchen is worth the trip. If you're not working Tuesday mornings are best. We're located just west of Morris, IL. http://www.downersgrovesc.com/ I suggest you also look at Aurora SC. There were a number of double shooters in the past.

During the Illinois state trapshoot there is a vintage competition where we shoot SxS. It happened last week and happens every June

When I lived in Naperville I shot a lot at the old Aurora Sportsman's Club (when it was in an old quarry area). They also had a doublegun day and I used to attend dressed up in a bowler hat, white shirt, black pants, suspenders and black dress shoes. I got the idea from viewing 100 year old trap and pigeon shoot photos. It was a good time. Unfortunately, I had to move to Houston TX in 2007 and haven't shot at the Aurora club since. They've since moved the club further west from Aurora.
