a question for our British members-

does any one know if they are still in business?

no answer from emails or snail-mail over 6 months of trying

As far as I know they are still in business . The gun parts are only a small part of their output and I do know they had manufacturing problems a year or so back .
That said it has been a struggle to get anything done by them in recent times .

small parts that were supposed to be on the way to heat treat at the time- bought and paid for in July- not like I can just go knock on the door.

Last set of lock castings I ordered took almost 2 years.

he did say 2 but I was sure he said weeks

I ordered a pair of hammers in Jan. of this year. Still waiting and I get no replies to my e-mail queries.

Still no response for me either

Finally something positive to report about Blackley and Son. After six months, I tried contacting them again using the address "sales@blackleyandson.com. Received a reply the same day (from someone named Kevin). He checked my order and found that the two hammers I ordered were damaged and have to be redone. Will take another 3-4 weeks plus shipping time. He offered to refund my money if I didn't want to wait. Of course I will wait...what choice do I have? Anyway, it's nice to know that there is someone at the other end replying to my queries. Will post again when the hammers arrive.

I have dealt with them within the past year. They were way slow but the quality of the hammers they cast was excellent, and worth the wait, perhaps 7-8 months. Don't count on them to answer emails; get on the phone and keep after them.

i'll give it another try- been over a year
