OP Gary Bush Sidelock Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 90 Texas	I collect aftermarket sights and gadgets made for the 1903 Springfield. Some are works of art while others need a few more trips through the machine shop. Many of these sights/gadgets are from home shops and others were commercially made for the retail market. In the way of example, this is one of my favorites sights - a safety sight. It has an elevation adjustment only. The finish is a beautiful brown. There are no makers' marks. This is a very, very well made sight. I will post pictures of of these sights/gadgets if there is an interest in seeing this old stuff. Gary Bush

If so, I find it interesting that a IMHO hunting sight would delete the safety. There is always the possibility that another system was used for that. It does appear well built and is definitely an "oddity". Thaine It ain't ignorance that does the most damage, it's knowing so derned much that ain't so! J. Billings
