Item: Philadelphia Fox A grade 12

Where can I get a factory Duck/goose load for decoying birds without the high pressure/ speed 1300-1450 fps specs?

RST has no nontox in production.
I don't reload.

Thanks for any leads.

You might try RIO Bismuth loads.

"Hard hitting payloads with superb downrange power. Softer than steel. Smart vintage shotgun owners trust their treasured firearms to Rio Bismuth Game Loads. Safe for those treasured old guns that cant tolerate steel shot, Rio Bismuth is the perfect choice for non-toxic applications such as waterfowling. Bismuth has 86% the density of lead, giving excellent long range power retention"

Kent Tungsten Matrix

"Tungsten Matrix WATERFOWLTungsten Matrix is the only non-toxic shotshell pellet that is specifically designed
to match the physical and ballistic properties of premium quality lead shot. Unlike other
non-toxic alternatives, Tungsten Matrix is uniform in size and density, and responds to
all choke constrictions. Tungsten Matrix is not limited like steel and other non-toxics
because of its malleable, lead-like properties. This also means Tungsten Matrix is
safe for use in older nitro-proofed or high grade fixed choke barrels."

Fiocchi Tundra

"You asked and we delivered again-you wanted the performance of lead but in a non-lead pellet. Fiocchi Tundra flies like lead, patterns like lead, chokes like lead, and hits like lead. Problem solved. With no damage to your gun from the pellets, Tundra delivers the performance you want with materials that the law allows when non-toxic shot is required. The result of the research was Fiocchi Tundra tungsten-composite shotshells. The right combination of tungsten, stainless steel, a binder, and graphite coating gives the hunter the performance he needs to drop the big birds, waterfowl and upland.

Choke our Tundra loads like lead and enjoy the quick, humane hunt. The pellets are round, not brittle, and deform on contact with the game to dump energy and bring them down period. Since Tundra behaves like lead, it can be shot in the older guns that wont take steel but are proofed for smokeless powder. As always, check with your gun manufacturer to be sure. One call or e-mail to them should confirm Tundra will work in your gun. So bring out the classic shotguns and bring down some birds."

All are faster than you are looking for but the RIO 1 oz at 1350 should be a pretty nice load to fire, and in 6's should really do a number on decoying ducks. I shoot 7/8oz loads of ITX 6's on decoying ducks and it has proven to be very effective.

In a discussion on another BB, it appears that Kent Gamebore TM loads for vintage guns (short hulls, low pressure) are no longer available.

Oskar, thanks for the time you spent typing all that info. I appreciate it.
Skeettx, it looks like the Rio bismuth @1350 will have to do.
I don't understand why the high speed as 1200 would Be fine.

Rio does list a nice 16 gauge load of Bismuth 3's @ 1200. I wish that they had the same in 12.

The Fox 12 is a heavy gun with #1 barrels so I feel confident that is should be able to handle the pressure.

We have a guided goose hunt coming up and it looks like the RIO bismuth 3's should be adequate.

Any further comments from the panel are encouraged, particularly if there are any Fox waterfowl shooters out there.
