Looks like it experienced proof in the final state in Zella Sankt Blasii-Mehlis in December 1905.

Just a misplaced decimal point. I'm sure he meant to start it at $99.95.

I'd say he was overcome by "Krieghoff", German and "unique" when he set the price.

Krieghoff did not become "Krieghoff" until after World War II. Prior to that, it was known as "Sempert & Krieghoff". That anyone would be fooled by the obviously spurious stamping on the rib is pretty incredible. Whoever did it couldn't even keep the stamping centered.

I think it was from Heinrich Krieghoff, son of Ludwig, who had his own "Gewehrfabrik":

….but if Raimey is right with the 1905, it's impossible, because H.Krieghoff established his company in 1916…

Yes, he was called back from Liege from developing a knowledge of mechanized tube making when WWI broke out & hung out his own shingle 'bout the time he acquired Schilling's machinery.

This gun looks to have been made by one of those companies that made those cheap "Garrucha" double barreled, external hammer pistols.
