Good morning from Maine. In Winfer's BSSR vol.6 there is mention of a Webley "pattern 54" rifle. There's a drawing that looks like it has an octagon barrel. The gun was a back action, hammer, break-open,top lever, file cut rib, rook rifle. But,they apparently made some on a (sort of quoting here) " larger frame in BP calibers up to .577 and lighter nitro cartridges to .375 ".
Has anyone here ever seen or heard of one of these Webley,"pattern 54" large bore, break open, single shot rifles? I've seen a few pictures of guns of similar configuration, from other makers, but they're small bore, rook rifles.
Thanks,
Hank
