My AyA is Marked differently than Skeetx's. It does not have J.C. Higgins at all, just "Sears Roebuck and Co. Chicago Ill. Made in Spain" and "Model 437512371 12GA 2 3/4" shell LT-F/RT-M" all on the left barrel, nothing on the rib, and "AyA-Aguerrie & Aranzabal-Made in Spain" on the right. The lettering is in different font, and I think the Rt bbl. was done by AyA, and the left was done later?

My Aya is the J.C. Higgins model 100, and different in construction from your Model 437512371. Sears imported different Aya models to sell.

I have a double with -EASTERN ARMS 101.15- printed over SEARS ROEBUCK AND CO. U.S.A. on left side and 5100 (small print) on right side. So Sears did mark some doubles with their name even thou they did not make them.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I really appreciate it. And particularly for the response about the Eastern Arms. Not as old as I was hoping for but one of those would work for my purposes.

I have a Gladiator double built by Hunter Arms Co. for Sears Roebuck, but it is not stamped with the Sears Roebuck name.

Hi y also imported another Spanish BLNE, made by Laurona in the late 60's early 70's. Here's an example: http://www.gunsinternational.com/SEARS-LAURONA-SHOTGUN-SxS.cfm?gun_id=100314651The interesting thing about this post are the various makers and models from the early heyday of their catalog sales...now on to Wards! Best! Greg

Too bad those days of Sears and Wards selling guns are over. Re Wards, they used the "Western Field" name on their guns much as Sears used Ranger. I've seen a few Miroku sxs marked Western Field. I think those might have been the best sxs Wards ever sold, and that would have been pretty much at the end of the time they handled guns.

Best! That is a new one to me. I wonder how these contracts worked? Did Sears put it out for bid, or did the gunmakers approach them with offers? Greg
