They had a French 16 on gunbroker that caught my eye. The photos were not very good, and didn't give a good idea of condition, and the description was fairly sparse, but I was intrigued, so I was going to e-mail to ask a couple questions and clarify a few things. Then I noticed this notice/warning/ultimatum:

"Please do not send us an email regarding this item unless you have a sincere interest in purchasing it... Please also do not try to impress us with your vast firearms knowledge, especially if you have no interest in purchasing the gun, thank you!"

Needless to say, I lost interest in the gun.

Hi, yep I sent them an e-mail on a gun and was ignored. So be it. Surprised they sell anything with an attitude like that. But then what would it be like if you returned it!!!

Best!

I took a look at their Website - some knuckle head with a Carpenter's Screw driver had a go at the French Gun.

Then I saw an example of their great knowledge of Firearms in the following listing ! I got a good laugh out of it ! smile

They mispell the Maker's name, three times, and then call it a "Guild Gun".

Antique Eduard Kittner – Coln 16ga SXS Shotgun. Stock # SP COMM. No Serial #. Made in the 1880’s or so, the barrel of this nice side-by-side 16 gauge shotgun is marked “EDUARD KITTNER COLN” indicating it was made by Herr Kittner in Cologne, Germany. The shotgun has 30" barrels, length of pull is 14" and chokes arre IM and CYL.The shotgun is in nice condition, like most guild guns, it has an engraved receiver, and blued barrels, sling swivels, a horn buttplate, and a carved Monte-Carlo-like stock. Overall condition of the shotgun is about 8o%, there is mild freckling on parts of the barrels, and like most antique horn buttplates, the bugs have eaten flecks of it. Bores are very nice.

I don't know these folks other than when I was in Dallas in May, I stopped by there and browsed a bit. They were very polite and friendly people. They even called the gunstore down the street to get someone to let me in as there was nobody in the storefront down there. They didn't have much in the way of sxs shotguns at that time. I don't think it's their bread and butter.

I've never bought anything from them but have talked to them about a couple guns. I've always found them to be helpful and nice.
