I too, need to thank Raimey for his help yesterday with a Meffert I found at a gun show. The show closed at 4:00 PM yesterday, so I didn't have any time to research the gun myself. So I PM Raimey and like the gentleman he is, he responded quickly and with more than enough information for me to make an offer on the gun. I bought her, but with out Raimey's help, I probably would have let her go down the road.

Dave, here are photos of the waterflat and the barrel markings. I have not measured the stock dimensions. The gun appears un-refinished.

That sure is some nice decorative work on the fences.

I had the pleasure to meet him personally at his home in March 2010 and can verify same as the others what a nice gent he is. Martin Jawohl! Herr Ellenberg kennt deutsche und Europaische Feuerwaffen sowie ein Braumeister dem Reinheitsbot von 1516 auf Bavaria und Munchen, Ja??? Prosit!!! I passed thru München last September but wasn't able to experience the full tourist version of Oktoberfest. And yes Martin it was nice to break bread with you and let you sample our local Barbacoa, but like I posted earlier, this is a bit over the top in my mind. Glad to assist any & all as I have a vested interest in seeing these examples also. I would ask that if you like what you are receiving as a benefit from this board, either directly or indirectly, send or give Dave some funds as he is the reason that we've all assembled here. Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Regards,
Buchseman Baumgarten is spot on as Meffert did not hold to adorned models but turned out more utility looking versions. Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Just saw this thread and would like to add my appreciation for our friend from Alabama. Raimey, your erudition never fails to astound!
Best,
Clay
