A little while back, I purchased a gun in a period case that was missing the key.

I found a place on the Internet that made keys - and apparently sells lots of other stuff - so I shipped them my case lock.

Apparently the lock needed not just a key, but a piece was missing.

I'm very excited today, to have received the repaired lock with two keys. I reinstalled it in the case and we're good to go.

Perhaps someone cam help out on another type of lock. I'm referring to the 2 piece examples used to secure the leather gun cases(lid to base) for doubles. I have a case that's missing it's lock and have never been able to find a replacement.

If you are talking about the locks that are typically seen on newer takedown cases, call Jeff's Outfitters. Jeff usually has a small inventory of locks for repair/replacement, but they may not show up on the website. A good luggage repair shop should also be able to get you one.
