I know that this question does not really fit in the forum, but I cannot seem to get an answer on it anywhere else. I will understand if the moderator deletes it but here goes. How "rare" is an Ithaca Model 37s (skeet) in 16 gauge? I have heard they are fairly rare, but how so? Thanks.

We're not all pure here, Mr. Hunter. It's a perfectly good question. I wish I could answer it. A member who can will be along.

I don't think you have to justify asking a question about one of the "Kings" of the repeaters on this board do you?
Walt's book about the Model 37 has great information.

Let's see if we can narrow this down a bit. In what year was your Model 37S built?

Yup, the 37S in 16 gauge is a scarce gun. It is very coveted by collectors when in original condition, but removes itself to "shooter" status when condition goes down and the barrel and stock is modified from factory original. Tell us about yours, or post pictures if you can figure out how to do it. The moderator will not delete your post.

www.shotgunworld.com has a forum dedicated to Ithacas. This is the one sponsored by Walt Snyder, all things Ithaca guru (not the factory forum) There is a current discussion ongoing about the M37S. (Unsaid, but the gun is listed at gunbroker)
