Run with Fox. We have tradition over here. Is it a new concept form you? (just pulling your leg). I like to dress up for the occassion. I'm a bit odd really..actually quite a few people do.

Jerry, the red flashes (sock ties) are traditionally worn for driven shooting over here.

Same here, Jerry, but you'd only wear them on a driven hunt.

Even though I only "rough shoot", and I do mean ROUGH, I do wear breeks, but wear some beautiful water-proofed leather boots from Le Chameau (sp?) my wife bought me years ago. They're high, and go right up to just under my knees, so my breeks flop over them. They're perfect when you hit the low swamps in the deep woods.

After all, you gotta have a little class when you tote a beautiful, vintage British shotgun into the briars!

Hear Hear Marc!

Ah, the rest of the story...well the cock bird had nerves of steel and was actually obviously a lot cleverer than the other birds that took to the air. He looked up at me...and then walked off to my right to the next gun...and then into the woodland behind us both, never to be seen again that day! smile

Actually, my wife took a couple of other shots of me goofing around, it's really no way to treat a Purdey hammer gun but I just had to get this shot...sorry folks..I really do look after my guns, honestly!

Cheers

Tony ... best of luck for the 11th. Salopian let me know you were shooting and I'd hoped to join you, but I have a pre-booked picking up date that I'm reluctant to break. Give 'um hell chap!!

PS Ask Pete about the gintlemin frum furrin parts wot we saw last week. They shot birds not much higher than that un crazy

Tony, does that pheasant have a white band around it's neck. Ours here do, but I see pheasants without the white band in Canada.

+1
I had cacti stuck to Turtleskin gaiters earlier this week. I think those little barbs have evolved to include glue on their tips....
