I have only been a member of this forum for a very short time, but I have received a lot of help. Many thanks to all involved.

A few photos for you. Our annual Boxing Day shoot attracted 83 guns this morning. Only a very few double guns (of the horizontal variety) sadly.

Our range (in Jersey, Channel islands) is on a clifftop looking out towards the coast of France.

First stand in the undergrowth...

Two high crossers ...

Even the range dogs are turned out in style ...

Last year was sunshine and frost, today was just sunshine ...

If you know of a range with a better-looking backstop ...

Nigel

I am indeed, but you guys get SNOW! We get very little in the way of frost here, and snow about once every 4 years (although we got a little in 2009 and 2010). I was raised in the east of England were winters can be surprisingly hard, and I miss the cold!

Looks like a great place to shoot! The range dogs look very well behaved and sharply dressed as well.

Excellent range. Ball trap, skeet, DTL, Sport trap and enough space for very varied sporting layouts. Usually about 5 dogs on the range at any one time, but not usually with red coats (although one regularly wears a coat marked 'Security'!). Jersey is a very small island (about 9 miles by 5 miles) but shooting is a major sport, without about 10 rifle/pistol/clay ranges.

Very little. On the rough shooting side there's rabbit, pigeon, crows, magpies. Pheasants were introduced about 20 years ago but were automatically protected by the wildlife law! Only when they became a serious nuisance to farmers was pheasant shooting permitted on a limited basis. No driven shooting as you would find in England.

Is there anything wrong with my vision or does the person on the third pic ("two high crossers") appear to pull the trigger with the ring finger?

Oh, and, great range!

Yes, the shooter has a slight shortage of index and middle fingers! I shoot with several guys who are in heavy plant, serious engineering, etc. and it is amazing how many partial fingers there are!
