There are two distinct periods in FERLIB's history. The first was when Libero Feragilio was alive and the principal maker. After he died, the company was taken over by Ivan Tanfolio. I have no experience with the later guns, so cannot comment on them. However, the earlier guns were true artisanal items. Although he used the usual Gardone VT network, Libero oversaw every one. His workshop was a tiny, virtually unfindable, dark, small area that smelled wonderfully of all the things that invoke fine guns. He could make virtually anything you could want, and the quality of the one I know is excellent, fast and lively. He spoke no English, but we both spoke bad French, so, when I visited, we had a great old time, including lunch at the Beretta executive dining room. In their day, they were a relative bargain. Again, none of this is meant to reflect in any way on the current production.
