Ray St-Ledger is a gunsmith/gunmaker who color case hardens firearms for many others in the industry. He is located in Birmingham, UK.

The most famous colouring outfit in the UK now. They do all the Hollands and Purdeys from new...Nice guys...met Rays son couple of weeks ago. They are very secretive. No-one other than family are aloud in the colouring room smile

uk? is that somewhere east of ireland? i bet dem st. leger dudes don't work cheap...then how do i get my stevens 311 receiver their and back widout an act o congress or is it parlament? this don't do me no good.

who we got in the u.s. of a. that can do that kind of work cheap?

Well, I guess if it's good enough for H&H and Purdeys it should be good enough for anyone,even the proponents of "low heat colors."I wonder what those folks would say about the ongoing discussion about color hardening we have here?

I will make a blanket opinion and leave it at that. I would never re-case color a gun. Once the colors are gone, there is no one in the world that can make it look as good as first applied. There is no replicating Colt, Winchester, Purdey, H & H or Boss colors once the horse has left the barn, even though there are many that do a good job (Turnbull). Let the gun show its age gracefully I say
