I am wanting a 28ga for shooting flyers. First issue I am a lefty, but I can get a stock bent in short order. There isn't a shop that has a 28ga with in a 5 hour ride. I was thinking about the Browing Citori 32" that gun hits the scale a little over 7 pounds. I have a 20ga 525 that I use for doves in South America, that gun has had the stock bent slighly due to the stock bolt. Then there's Caesar Guerini Summit 32". I shot a Summit in a 12 ga a few years ago.
I am open to all ideas.

Other than a Zoli Z-Gun in the 20/28 combo, a Perazzi, or a CSMC A-10, you've about named all your options. Any particular reason for a 28 ga. flyer gun?

I've shot a couple K-20 guns that were a real dream. Also a MX-20 framed gun with a 28g long barrel would be slick too.

I agree the 525/625/etc. long barreled version would be nice. I think I'd go with a 32" gun. I have a 525 in 20g/32" that I have a hard time missing with. I just think the trigger pulls stink and will need work.

I've looked hard at Guerini guns a number of times. They seem like they are a little better fitted than a Browning.

Also, look at what Joel Etchen has. I think a Beretta is a better gun than either the Browning or Guerini.

Too many straights with a 20ga?

I have a K20 28 gauge, 32"....it's a really nice gun, weight wise. I bought a case of B&P 15/16oz loads and the gun soaks up the recoil from these nicely.

One thing that a good friend of mine pointed out, Krieghoff bores their 28 gauge barrels out to approximately .543 while Perazzi will bore their 28 gauge barrels out to .555 from the factory (you need to ask the dealer to order from Perazzi the .555 bore size). He has said he has received better patterns, from the Perazzi than the Krieghoff from the overbored barrels.

I'm kind of on the fence with this 28 gauge underbore/overbore and whether to sell my K gun and go with a P gun in 28 gauge: I am breaking clays from 40+ yards out so the K20 28 gauge works for me. I still would like to try a MX20/28 though.

When I inquired about a set of 28 gauge barrels for my MX20, the barrels alone cost $5600 and with a forearm, cost $7100. A whole new gun, the MX20 with 28 gauge barrels, fixed choke, would cost around $11k.

Whoa! I appreciate a p-gun, but that sure makes a Beretta look more attractive.

There are some parts of the world that have 28ga events. I'd be shooting 3-4 of these a year. Not a fan of K guns,as mention Perazzi wants a bundle for a set of barrels on the 12ga frame. So my thinking was get an entry level 28 to fool with before I go deep into the 28.

I've owned a number of Brownings, the early Citori line up thru the 90s sometime, was a pretty well made gun. My 525, while a good shooter, is a not so well made/fitted gun. My foray into Beretta's was tentative, but I found they were consistantly well made guns, albeit utilitarian. A Beretta from Etchen would be my choice if I wasn't ready to commit to a P-gun yet.

I have a Miroku MK70 in 28ga w/30" barrels and like it a lot. Don't know if it's available with 32's, but worth a look. As has been noted in the past, Mirokus seem to be just a tad nicer and lighter than the comparable Browning pieces.
