A sign of a quality shotgun forum is that, 20 posts into a thread like this, and nobody has suggested spraying it with Gun-Coat, chopping the tubes and making it into a "truck gun". LOL!!!

Thanks for the responses fellas. I'll treat the Flues with the recommended dignity.

If it was a Perazzi, you could do a bit of redecoration with cold blue, but as it's a Flusie . . . I do see just a bit of color in the crease next the barrel ball on the right side of the old slab. Reminds me of the saying "Some colour in hidden areas." Meaning you can't see it. The time may come when somebody somewhere will pay for rumours of case color but I doubt it. Patination (fine corrosion) is good too; it's the poor man's "originality" so don't polish it. Wanna save that for a Fox; they make fine signal mirrors.

A shooter grade gun like this that has no CC left and the stock is being sanded and propably cut for a pad, well just sayin oil will protect it from further damage, but bluing will protect it more. Hell, a coat of paint aint gonna hurt it either, as I have never been a fan of a shiney reciever. Call me sacreligous...

I've read that the Flues have "cast iron" frames. Can anybody confirm / clarify? Thanks!

I believe they were investment cast, but Walter would know for sure.
