Hi Gang:

While visiting the Carlisle War College in Carlisle Pennsylvania, I found a display dedicated to Gen. Omar Bradley.
In the display was his Winchester 21 in 20 gage. The thing that struck me as outstanding was the quality of the wood that was in the stock and forearm. They were American Black Walnut to die for! I would love to be able to handle that gun to see what it looked like on both sides and to feel how it felt in ones hands.
It looked quite trim and minimal.

If you are ever in the vicinity, stop and gaze upon this treasure. It is very easy to get to the War College from routes 15, 76, 81 and 83.

Happy Holidays to all,

Franchi

On some of the more special 21's Winchester went all out. I'd love to see the Omar Bradley gun...What gauge is it? This special order was also "trimmed down" and states "no fishbelly thin english comb"

If you google Gen. Bradley there is a window for artifacts, then one for the Winchester.

I believe the Schwing book pictures the Bradley gun. Ike's gun with the five stars gold inlaid is in the National Firearms Museum. I was so busy looking at the new Robert Petersen Room last week, I completely missed a check on the Eisenhower gun. I did check on the Parker Invincibles, however, and they were still in the Beretta Gallery.

Hi:

Yes, that looks like the one! Is it on a scaled 20 gage frame? It looked very attractive through the glass cabinet. I thought the stock had very nice grain.

Thanks for posting a picture for all to see.

I love the look of a 21 with good wood, here are a few more to look at.

Not a 21 but a fine example of what Winchester did with some xxx+ wood ove 100 years ago.
