Franc,

Construction and size of mine are as you describe. Actually, mine only put about 1/8 lb additional weight on barrels. I tried my lighest old hammer doubles, with and without these 2,0 and 2,5 oz handguards. IF there is any practical difference, I cannot say that I can detect it. These are all slightly muzzle heavy, long barreled, lightweight guns, 6,2 to 6,5 lbs. I have been shooting such guns with handguards for decades.

Actually, in cold weather hunting I have additionally a nice warm glove on fore stock hand -- that probably weighes as much as one of these handguards.

To each his own -- gloves vs handguards --. I only like gloves in cold weather, especially when sitting in blind, passbox, etc.

I am still trying to get out for first round of trap and wobble trap (our favorite) this year. Maybe yet in July.

It is fun to flush out actual data for things!
