Does anyone have a DM Lefever SBT gun. I am interested in the Bowling Green, Ohio guns. I know that not many were built and supposedly not many are around anymore. Just looking for as much info as possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Had #106. You can see it in Elliott's first book.

Daryl,
I saw Elliott's book, and your gun. I thought you or Chris might have some additional information. Have you ever seen any others? I have seen one other, #57. Thanks

Actually quite a number of others, maybe 8 or so. Alot like the Three Barrel Gun Co. guns with whom a Lefever son was associated. Not sure what "additional information" you would like to hear.

I had been looking for one also. I just settled for a LC Smith Specialty single trap instead.
As a side note are any of you guys shooting DM Lefever doubles much. I mostly shoot sideplates.
I have a 8E that I need to start shooting or move it. I have heard mixed reveiws on their reliability.
Here's the link to the LC Smith: http://www.gunrunnerauctions.com/listings/details/index.cfm?itemnum=952207786
How did I do ?

That same auction site will have a DM Lefever trap Bowling Green I think coming soon. I saw it the last time I was there. I thought it would have been in the last auction. So keep looking. It has a wood extention on it. I don't remember the serial number but it was pretty low. I hate to post this because I have a little interest in it also. Probably will have to pass since I just bought some things.

I've not seen one and I'm very curious as to their configuration. What can you fellows tell me about the lockwork and bolting? Did the barrels have ribs that early in the game?

They are as confusing as the D.M. Lefever doubles. A while back we were discussing them on one of the sites, and every picture we could come up with of one they looked different -- three pins/screws thru the side, two pins/screws thru the side and no pins/screws thru the side. They did have a solid rib. The first offering of a vent rib I've found was about the second or third year the Remington Autoloading Gun was offered.

Rolla Heikes with his Remington Autoloading Gun about 1905 courtesy of Chris Lien

The Baker SBT with a ventilated rib was introduced in 1909.
Dave posted previously that the 1909 Remington catalog listed a matted rib or a ventilated rib ($16) on the autoloading gun. The No. 525 Stevens Repeater with a "Hollow Matted Rib" was introduced in 1911.
