Three of the Ithaca Gun Company's classic trap guns had a day at the range this morning. Many puff balls and a few clean misses. These guns are tight and when I did my part, smoke. We shoot wooble trap BTW. Nothing more satisfing that a smoke puff of ahigh screamer againest the Carolina blue sky. Top is a $5000 Knick SBT, middle is the NID 3E earlier discussed and bottom is a pre war Model 37T that I bought from our Bushmaster. I love them all but the Knick is a really sweet gun to shoot.

Walt, thanks for the pics. And you shoot them, too. Actually my favorite dove gun is a 4E NID with VR, SST, PG, BT, and 32" barrels, so I understand , I think, what you feel with those guns.

Walt, if you aren't careful, people will begin to doubt your impartiality regarding shotguns. I doubt you realize it, but looking back, most of your posts seem to be about Ithacas ... P.S. My new NID Field Grade leaves for the fields of central S.D. in less than a week, and is very excited. TT

Walt, what is the original provenance on the $5000 Grade? Of course, you know the one I like the best. Murphy

Walt, Great story, and sure brings back memories of my own Knick SBT, wonder where it is now, the serial number is 401483, I remember that today after about 40 years, but have a hard time telling you what I had for breakfast, or was it lunch? That is one trap gun I wish I had kept.

Hmmm, I suppose I should be more political correct. Is there another brand that I should be aware of?? I did hear once of Parkers but thought they were the boys who parked the cars for the Ithaca gun makers!! Some have said I should get out more but I ask where can I go, all that is worthy is in my grasp!! What oh what am I missing?? I just can't imagine. It is so comforting to live with perfection! Eightbore, I may be coming for your 20 gauge M-37S very soon... I must have them all. TT, Please post your successes with that American Classic.

Eighbore, Bill Mains engraved this gun in the fall of 1975. It went to the Stoughten Trading Post in Feburay of 1976. Man, is it a clay killer or what! And nice to look at while waiting its turn! BTW, Bill has agreed to do the early $2000 engraving on my 28 gauge M-37. Plus a mermaid on the trigger bow. I have an original gold shield from the effects of one of the old Ithaca stockers for him to inlay in the toe of the $$$grade wood. How sweet life is!!!!!

Went to South Dakota to hunt, a 2,600 mile round trip for me, with one shotgun riding in the back; a NID field grade...in complete comfort of course. Ithaca, Native American word for "No backup necessary"!!! I love them all Walt every one of them because they never let you down!!!
