I collect old books about rifles. That's much cheaper than collecting the rifles themselves. Sometimes I even read the books. In "Practical Dope on the .22", Fred Ness (p. 128, last paragraph) makes reference to 2 G&H rifles in .219 Zipper. One is a Winchester Model 70 and the other is a Savage Model 40. On p. 273, Ness mentions a G&H conversion of a M1 (1922) Springfield to .22-3000 Lovell and refers to a G&H magazine for the .22-3000 Lovell cartridge, perhaps marketed separately.
These were Depression-era conversions, and I assume that G&H did about anything reasonable just to keep the doors open. Michael, can you (or anyone else) tell us more about these odd rifles?
