Well... she goes under the hammer today.

http://www.thecobbs.com/parker.htm

Would someone be kind enough to post the selling price? Congratulations and best wishes to the buyer, a great piece of American sporting history!

I think I'll go console myself with a little bird hunting.

Thanks.

It should be sold by now. Let us know who got it. What about the price of the "early A" Fox 16 and the equally neat 16 gauge Skeeter?

Anyone know if that Ansley H. Fox early A-Grade 16-gauge has Krupp or Chromox barrels? Now really nit picking, does it have the A.H. Fox & J.C. Kremer or the F.T. Russell snap-on/off forearm fastening?

All I know is the serial number. The pictures on the auction site were not good.

The Fox hammered at $1900 plus 15% buyer's premium.

Burt's Parker went for an astounding figure - provenance alone sold for about $7,250.00 plus buyer's premium but the gun sold for about what it was worth.

Dean

It was bought by a phone bid.

So the price was $7250 plus premium?

Thanks for your response, DAM16SXS.

Burton Spiller's 20 gauge VH Parker, Larry Koller's 250-3000 Savage Model 1920 or his model 99 "G" and a Jack O'Connor 270 Winchester, classic American guns once the pet firearms of great outdoor writers.

Can you really put a price on these things?

Had a little Parker VH with 28" barrels, sadly I didn't shoot it well.

If Burt's VH 20 gauge went for $7,250 that was a good buy with or without the provenance.

Just My Opinion.......George
