How 'bout this E.A. Merkel hammer combo with the repair in 1933. I do wonder what the repair might have been & why they still held w/ the 10X52R in 1933, if the 10X52R was original. Anyone think the 10X52R chambering w/ a 15 gramme bullet was a 10X52R Lorenz and the original chambering?

Too, I've read thru Photobucket's new rules for June and they are centred around thru-put/bandwidth holding the >>Free<< user to 25 Meg per month and above that the images will either have a watermark or be blurry. They indicate the next price increase will be in 2020.

Cheers,

Raimey,
The caliber is likely some version of 10x52, but there is not enough info for ID. The 15 gram bullet would be 231.5 grains, which could fit into a MB base, 360 base, or M88 base cartridge. With a lead bullet, I wouldn't think it would be M88 base, but maybe LK. Need chamber cast, barrel slug. Note nitro proof.

Maybe the Nitro proof was the only "repair" done in 1933?
No other proofmarks visible, so was the gun made and sold before 1891?
