Here is a Kettner combo I recently acquired. It is chambered in 16ga over 9x58 1/2 S&S. If anyone has any info on reloading for that rifle caliber please let me know.

Saw your comments over at GGCA. I have found unless you have access to a lathe trimming rims is a real pain. 9.3x72R brass is readily available (Huntingtons and Buffalo Arms)although more expensive than 38-55 is a pretty easy transformation to 9x58R. Twenty rounds could last a lifetime of hunting. I shoot a 6.5x58R and just cut to rough length with a tubing cutter, anneal, run through my FL sizing die and finish trim. C&H is a great source for loading dies and after you slug the bore and it isn't a common size C&H has bullet sizing dies. My 6.5 has a .260 groove diameter and I size .264 down to .260.

oskar,
The procedures any of us use to produce cases does depend on the equipment, experience, donor cases, and money we have at hand. Lacking equipment, donor cases, and experience, the easiest way usually is to just buy the cases or something much easier to form into the desired case. At almost 3/4 of a century in age, I have sufficient equipment and a little experience, but lack money. Others have sufficient money, but lack equipment and/or experience. When I suggest some method of making cases, it is with the admission and complete understanding that someone else may have another way that suits them better. Sometimes I forget others don't have the machines I have or the inclination to acquire and learn to use them. For these people, it is perfectly satisfactory to just buy what they want. It is all a personal opinion, and mine is no better than anyone else's. I believe a lathe( and mill) is a requirement of life.

And I just offered an alternate method if one doesn't own a lathe which a vast majority of gun owners don't.

oskar and Der Ami thank you both for your help on reloading for this caliber.

I have kinda been bitten by the German hunting gun bug and I have the chance to buy another one that is absolutely stunning. Fully engraved case colored boxlock receiver and not a scratch on it. I believe he said it had Maass? on the barrel rib. Which I guess is a retailer? I will try to post some pictures before I buy it.

Unfortunately no one is "kinda" bitten for long--the majority are fully infected with no hope of recovery in sight as these guns are just too unique! Good luck with the chase.
