I hope others with the ability to scan old photos will do so and post them. I find much to study in them.

Studying these photos reveals two things for certain, the first being that smiling was not vogue for picture taking in those days and some very nice deer, particularly mulies were taken back then.

yeh lot of 99s and how about the Remington model 8. I see one every once in a while and wonder if they cycle reliably?

There was a man who lived in the Savannah River swamp, near here, in the 1930s named Titus Capus who lived in the butt end of a huge cypress log. I remember seeing the log many times as a child. He hunted, fished and trapped and brought his bags out to my grandaddy's store to sell for him.

I often wondered how he could bear the mosquitoes and yellow flies in that open log.
