I need some help finding the value of this gun case. It is in good working condition, but shows the stains of age. I have been told it is for a 1903 National Match gun. Also, that Marine Corps marked cases might be rare. Overall length is about 47 1/2". Thanks, Daryl

When I was a member of the USMCR Rifle Team back in the '60's, that kind of case is what we carried our National Match M1's and M14's in. Also, when I bought three match rifles, two bolt guns and an M1, from a former Marine Corps team shooter, that's what they came in. I still have them and there is a certain amount of sentimental attachment involved with them.

Yours has seem some hard use and was not treated too kindly. I have no idea what it might be worth, but there are collectors who go for Marine Corps memorabilia, and they would be a potential market. Maybe one will see your post and contact you.

If someone owned the appropriate gun to go with that cae, they'd likely be the candidate to purchase it. I'd doubt that just anyone who collects military collectibles would be very interested in it's present condition.
But having the right gun would make it highly desirable to a collector who wants it to go with his gun for display purposes.
Thanks for your thoughts. I looked at the pics and it does look like condition is not so good. Actually the canvas is somewhat dirty, but not worn . All is nicely intact.

I thought , being a shotgun guy, that this site was a good one for my question. Is there another site you might recommend for information ? Thanks for your help. Daryl

Sir, I write for the Garand Collector's Association. I would love to speak to you and see if I can find out more on your time with the teams. I will see if I can write you a private message.

On the OP, I would be curious how much you want for the case. I might be interested. I collect Marine Corps items.
Daryl, I tried to PM you. It says your PM's are full.

I would be curious to know how much you want for it?
