Things have been kind of slow here, so I thought I would start
a thread

I saw this remodeled NRA sporter on gunbroker and wondered if anyone
had an idea on who remodeled it.

Looks a lot like a Sedgley to me.

I also think it's a National Match barreled action, as I don't recall the reverse safety ever being offered on an NRA sales rifle or a Springfield Sporter?

Did any of the NRA Sporters have "low serial #'s" ?

No. Production of the Nra Sporters started in 1923 with serial number approx 12XXXXX

Ok, I stand somewhat corrected. The serial no shows in the records as SPT, so somewhere along the way it seems it had a reverse safety installed. Maybe ordered that way. The stock still reminds me of a Sedgley with the exception of the heavy schnabel.
