Presented is a .500 Linebaugh shotgun to rifle conversion I've finished up. It started life as a 20 bore shotgun, then converted to the .500 Linebaugh revolver cartridge for the client to hunt driven deer in New York. It was also restocked by me using a stunning piece of Turkish walnut!

WARNING-beginner photography!

Purty.

New barrels or liners?

Shotgun barrels were cut off in front of breach to form a monoblock.

Beautiful. Excellent shaping of the pistol gip, for a rifle. It's Rigby-esque.

How hard was it to regulate?

Gorgeous. And the idea of a proper double rifle in something else than a big five caliber appeals immensely. I’d be happy with something like that in thutty-thutty, or .357, or even in one of the antiquarian henhouse-defence chamberings, like .25-20.

May I ask what the donor shotgun was? And how, exactly, do the rifle barrels get mated to the monobloc?

Thank you for showing us

This one is an Armas Garbi. Barrels are sleeved into the monoblock and laser welded. Others are soldered in.

That is a beautiful gun. And the pics are pretty nice too. I also would be interested in more details about the build, regulation, and the performance of the .500 Linebaugh in a rifle.

Aaron

How about some regulation targets and chronograph info and regulation load info.
I would imagine it is about 50 Beowulf performance.

Does anyone know of or how to load 16 Ga. 2 1/2" shells in black powder?
Posted By: skeettx Re: .500 Linebaugh Conversion - 11/21/17 02:21 AM
Yes, set dipper at 7/8 ounce
Having a sized and primed hull,
dip one dipper of FF black
seat a nitro wad
seat appropriate height of cushion wad
dip one dipper of shot
star crimp
final crimp
Plastic hulls last only one loading
