I just received my sxs 45/70/300. Thats what were calling it. As it is regulated for 300 gr. hollow points. The fine fellow,Bob who is working on fishdocks ou is the craftsman behind the beast. It has 20 inch turned down barrels, and is regulated close for shooting bear over hounds.Workmanship is excellent. Had it browned and a rich redish finish on the wood. It looks like a century old well cared for rifle. Shoots like a dream. rolling grape fruit sized rocks at 50 yards regularly.The only trouble is keeping enough ammo loaded to feed it, Its to dam fun to shoot!!!

Just thought I would add that the rifle shoots as great as it looks.!!! busting cantalope size rocks at the 50 yard range consistent out of both barrels. Recoil is very light. about that of a 3 inch 12 gauge. IT points quick and shoots better when you just get on and fire. Or should I say I shoot it better that way. My wife shoots it better than I do. And was sceptical about the price, which was affordable yet sizeable. Then after shooting it she thinks it was well worth the money and wants me to buy a gun safe!!!Now all I have to do is wait till fall to bloody it!!!

Got my converted Red Label back yesterday. Have not shot it yet, I'll get to that in a few days. Have looked at it, and fondeled it.

He did a very good job as far as I can tell. I'll know more after I shoot it but if the effort he put into making it look right is any guage as to the effort he put into regulating it, then I think all will be well.
