Beautiful! Is this your first try at case colors? Very nice job.

What can compare to case hardening? Gorgeous.

SXSman This is from a class taught at my shop. The students from the school I teach at did all the work we just provided the guidance. We have been coloring a while.
Thanks for the kind words.

MichaelJ, I think your students did a wonderful job and it appears they have an excellent teacher.

Since you are teaching the art of case hardening, It would be nice if some day you could find the time to teach us too. It would be very interesting to hear about your methods and materials, and what you have learned over time so that we who may be contemplating trying this might get off to a better start.

Michael, you got some very beautiful colors on that metal!

I have a general question about this- presumably the metal had already been case hardened but the original colors were worn off or removed. Then you re-case hardened the same pieces.

What does this do to the metal when you harden the second time around? Does the outer case hardened layer get thicker? Are the general properties of the piece altered?
