How long do you wait after your final coat of TimberLuxe before you checker?

As long as possible. The longer the better.

Brian Board recommended Checkering first. Im going to try on my next build

I like checkering first, then covering the checkering with blue painter's tape while finishing the wood. After the finishing is complete I remove the tape and brush a light coat of finish into the checkering with an old toothbrush, being careful not to get too much in it.

I'm just a novice, but I like the way that works.

I use to checker first but now let the finish dry well and checker last.Bobby

I never understood checkering first. But... to each his own.

It is one thing to add a final top coat or something, but a complete finish job on raw wood with checkering in place...? No thank you.

I checker when I am one top coat from being done. Then the last coat is also when I seal the checkering.
