I come across a lot of good quality German scopes, very good glass, but unlike most American scopes they have a rail on the underside of the scope tube and sometimes the objective bell too.

Where do you buy mounts for these scopes ? I have a ruger no.1 and would like to mount one of these scopes on it, it might allow the scope to be mounted further to the rear. Also these good quality scopes are available for not much money, used.

Recknagel from Germany makes such mounts. In UK Alan Rhone Ltd is their reseller.

I am using them and they are brilliant, but pricey!

I have a spare set of two 'feet' to go on german railed scopes, but not the bases. (£ 65 incl. postage to Dublin)
