Had some spare time to make a Goodwin Diopter sight.
Base is not ready because I need first a rifle to fit on.

You made that? Very fine workmanship.

Beautiful workmanship.

Having used tang sights for many years the first question that comes to my mind is ........... how much backlash do you have when you reverse directions of adjustment?

You should be able to take the backlash out, by going past the desired setting and then going back to it; the same as accounting for backlash on a milling machine. Wonderful work, by the way.

I know that, Mike. But, I have tang sights in which there is no backlash, and was wondering if any consideration was given to that issue.

Very impressed, with just one question how did you manage to produce such high quality engraving?

I have no idea how this masterpiece fits on a rifle. Can we see how this works? I would love to suggest or donate a rifle to use this sight.

The engraving I done on a Cnc Milling machine.
In the old days this was done by hand.

Here a picture how it would be installed on a rifle.
In the picture you see a muzzle loading rifle , but this sight was designed to installed on a
breech loading rifle so that it is possible to clean the barrel from the back.
