Re advertisement in last SSM.... Has anyone seen an Arrieta model 06 ( Boss style engraving) for sale in the US ? I will be contacting the listed distributors, but just curious if anyone has knowledge of this new( to me ) gun ( 5 series/ 8 series?) for a hands on inspection?

I have seen one but not in the US. A standard round-body action with Boss engraving, finished to high standards. I think it is pretty well accepted Arrieta has the most diverse engravers. Their guys (or gals) who do bulino are the only Basque engravers I've seen that do that style well.

Is there a difference in 5 or 8 series aside from engraving?

With the exception of the 871, all of the 800 series are self openers
